Fashion at fifty is more about embracing our shape with flattering clothes that we feel confident in, rather than staying on trend all the time. That bikini may look fab on the twenty five year old model in HI on the retail website, but my fifty year old body needs A LOT more support (scaffolding) in all places.
Age has given more clarity on what I value in life. It is not the amount of friends that are important to me anymore but having friends I can count on for support when I need it. Plus I can step up and help them too. The definition of friendship to me now has shifted. My friendships run deeper than they ever did before. This was particularly evident when my father was terminally ill. Good friends lift you up when you are too weak emotionally to walk on your own. Continue reading
Fifty is just around the corner and personally I have found that in recent years I have become far too serious about life and responsibilities. I am not for one second saying that we should all head for the hills and party like there is no tomorrow. Really, I am not!
What I do suggest is that it is okay to step back and have FUN! Remember that? A trip to La Jolla, CA reminded me that fun is good for any age. My husband recently had business in CA and my youngest son and I accompanied him. I had forgotten how much I love the beach.
